Thank you, again.

In July we wrote to say thank you for a hundred thousand views. Less than three months later it’s a quarter of a million, from more than 32,000 people, and the average visit is close to four minutes. People are using it to get real work done.

What changed since 100K

Most of the work since July has gone into making the numbers right, not adding features. A few of you sent us declarations where our duty didn’t match ASYCUDA. Each one was worth chasing.

  • We re-checked every chapter of the tariff against the Customs PDFs and fixed the duty rates that had drifted. Reported mismatches with ASYCUDA are now fixed.
  • HS codes that Customs has removed are marked as retired, with a note pointing you to what replaced them, instead of just disappearing.
  • Vehicle surcharge now follows Gazette 2501/88.
  • Sweetened drinks ask for sugar content, so the excise is worked out the way Customs charges it.
  • Searching a full 10-digit code that isn’t in the schedule falls back to its subheading instead of showing nothing.
  • Pages and repeat searches load faster, and image search retries instead of giving up.

Everything is still here and still free: HS Code Search, Duty Calculator, Vehicle Import Calculator, Import Cost Calculator, Exchange Rates, CusDec Builder, Container Tracking, MCP Server.

One small ask

Send it to someone who needs it

We still don’t run ads and we still haven’t paid to promote the site. Most of those views came from somebody sending the link to somebody else.

Same ask as last time. If it saved you a phone call, forward it to one person it would help too. That’s it.

Or copy it by hand: tariff.lk/announcements/thank-you-for-250k-views

What’s next

  • Keeping the schedule current. Every rate traces back to the 2026 NITG, and it gets updated when a gazette revision lands.
  • CusDec: from a proforma invoice to a declaration you can actually file. It is in testing now.
  • More on vehicles, which is still what most of you come here for.

What’s free now stays free. If we charge for something later it’ll be a separate thing, not a fence around what you already use.

Thanks for using it. If a rate looks wrong, or we’ve put a product under the wrong code, tell us. Corrections are the most useful mail we get.
