Sri Lanka Customs Exchange Rates 2026

Official exchange rates published in the Sri Lanka Extraordinary Gazette and used by Sri Lanka Customs for import duty calculations. Rates cover 50+ currencies and are updated every Monday. These are the rates importers and customs brokers must use when declaring the CIF value of goods in foreign currency.

What exchange rate does Sri Lanka Customs use?▾

Sri Lanka Customs uses the official rates published weekly in the Extraordinary Gazette, not commercial bank rates. Importers must declare the CIF value of goods using these gazette rates when completing the Customs Declaration (CusDec). The rates are published by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and gazetted every Monday.

How often are Sri Lanka customs exchange rates updated?▾

Customs exchange rates are updated weekly - new rates are published in the Extraordinary Gazette every Sunday/Monday and take effect the following Monday. tariff.lk fetches the latest gazette every Monday to keep rates current.

Where are the official Sri Lanka customs exchange rates published?▾

The official rates are published as Extraordinary Gazette notifications on documents.gov.lk under the Sri Lanka Customs Act. The gazette number and effective date range are shown at the top of this page.
